Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das College, popularly known as LOKD College is a premier institute of higher learning in Dhekiajuli, Dist. Sonitpur, Assam. It was established in 15th July, 1970 with the unwavering endeavour of some leading citizens and the public of greater Dhekiajuli. During its inception it was named as “Dhekiajuli College” but later on in the year 1975 it was renamed as “Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das College” after late Omeo Kumad Das, an eminent social worker, leading Gandhian leader and the first Education Minister of Assam in Independent India.
